| The Open Terra Agent is a device-resident client component that manages the interactions of the mobile application to communicate with the JaQue Messaging and Transaction Gateway. The Agent permits seamless offline and online operation of mobile applications. The Agent is built on the powerful Java J2ME platform which maximizes multi-device interoperability. This design allows it to support all Java-enabled devices including devices from Nokia, Motorola, SonyEricsson, Siemens, RIM, Palm, HandSpring, and Sharp among others. The Agent communicates to the JaQue gateway using secure, encrypted XML, the most widely accepted and adopted means to deliver content data, which ensures a future-proof mobile investment. |

| Open Terra’s JaQue is our 100% JMS (Java Messaging Services) compliant message queuing implementation. This means that JaQue is guaranteed to be compatible in interfacing with today’s leading enterprise applications. The JaQue Messaging and Transaction Gateway manages the communication between the mobile applications and backend enterprise applications by interfacing with our own robust messaging solution or existing messaging middleware. JaQue supports message encryption, database connectivity services, transaction management, event management, message alerts, transaction logging, and error handling. |

| The Open Terra Control Panel provides administrators with a simple tool to manage complex mobile application deployments. System administrators can manage the entire mobile implementation life cycle online, from initial design to continuing deployments. The control panel enables business to send mobile messages and alerts to the entire business workforce, a specific group or division, or to an individual user all though an online graphical interface. The Open Terra Control Panel also provides bandwidth metrics, security controls, group and user assignments, and many other features to fine-tune mobile application performance and minimize wireless data costs. |

| The Open Terra Mobile Design Studio provides an Internet browser-based online graphical tool for the rapid development of mobile applications that are optimized to meet specific mobile user needs. Developers as well as administrators can use the Open Terra Mobile Design Studio to visually build the entire mobile application flows, and automatically generate the integration code to the backend enterprise applications without actually coding. The studio also comes complete with database connectors to leading database vendors including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, mySQL, PostgreSQL, Informix, and Sybase among others (virtually any JDBC compliant database), powerful Web Services connectors, middleware messaging connectors to Open Terra’s JaQue Messaging or to existing JMS solutions, as well as a powerful business rules editor. The business rules editor allows designing, creating and editing business rules, as well as providing mobile business solutions greater control through added business conditions and actions processing. |

The Open Terra Business Rules Runtime Engine is a scalable, high-performance and small footprint engine that can evaluate and infer a large number of business rules into a mobile implementation. The Open Terra Mobile Design Studio provides seamless access to the rules engine through an easy to use graphical user interface within the studio itself. Using the rules engine results in a flexible and maintainable application because rules are separated from the application logic and can be maintained separately. The business rules engine is invoked at runtime meaning that changes to the business rules take effect in real-time. The engine offers support for using XML in business rules, which means that it is seamless to the Agent which communicates with XML inherently.
